The Yellow League train takes off on Monday.
The new season of The Yellow League of the First Division League (FDL) of Professional Clubs, “Season 2024-2025,” will begin next Monday, with the participation of 18 teams for the third consecutive season.
The new season witnesses the participation of 3 clubs relegated from the Roshan Professional League (RSL), namely Abha, Al-Taei and Al-Hazm, in addition to 3 clubs promoted from the second division, namely NEOM, Al-Jubail and Al-Zulfi.
The 2024-2025 season of the Yellow League will witness a new system for promotion to the Roshen Professional League (RSL) , whereby the first and second-place finishers will advance to the Professional League for the 2025-2026 season, while the third to sixth clubs will enter a playoff to determine the third qualifier.
The Yellow League of the First Division League (FDL) of Professional Clubs’ Association announced earlier that it would implement the PLAY-OFF system to determine the third team to qualify for the Professional League, starting from the 2024-2025 sports season.
By targeting this system, the association aims to increase the teams’ opportunities to advance to the top league, and to contribute to raising the quality and level of the teams’ technical performance and the continuation of competition until the last round, in addition to increasing marketing opportunities and audience viewership for the first division league.
The competitions for the first round of the Yellow League (FDL) will be held next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with 3 matches per day. On Monday, 3 matches will be held between Al-Adala and Al-Bukayriyah at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Al-Ahsa, Al-Najma with Al-Ta’i at the Education Department Stadium in Unayzah, and Jeddah with Al-Jandal on The gymnasium stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah.
The opening round competitions continue on Tuesday, as Al-Jabalain meets Al-Faisaly at the Prince Abdulaziz bin Musaed Sports City Stadium in Hail, Al-Ain and Al-Batin at the King Saud Sports City Stadium in Al-Baha, and Al-Jubail in Al-Safa at the Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Qatif.
The first round will conclude on Wednesday, August 21st, when Al-Hazm will meet with Ohod at Al-Hazm Club Stadium in Al-Rass, Al-Zulfi with Al-Arabi at the Zulfi Club Stadium, while attention will be directed to Abha’s confrontation with NEOM team, which has strong deals during the summer transfer period, which is the confrontation that will be held at the City Stadium.
