the First Division League (FDL) of Professional Clubs Association launches the first cup in the competition.
the First Division League (FDL) of Professional Clubs Association has launched a new Yelo League Cup for the 2024-2025 season. This is the first cup of its kind in the competition, which in previous seasons saw the champion crowned with the “shield.”
The design of the new Cup is inspired by the Salmani style, a name attributed to the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – in developing the Saudi capital, Riyadh, over a period of more than five decades.
The new Yelo League Cup for First Division League of (FDL) of Professional Clubs features designs and inscriptions in the Salmani inscription and other urban area inscriptions, a type of heritage inscription that refers to the regions of the Kingdom in a modern style with freedom of diversity in the inscription and decoration.
The launch of the new trophy coincides with the launch of “Saudi Architecture” by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The trophy features 19 architectural styles inspired by the Kingdom’s geographical and cultural characteristics.
The new Cup stands 45 cm tall and has a base width of 14 cm. It is decorated with Salmani engravings that reflect the Kingdom’s heritage. A pure gold-plated football sits atop the Cup in the center of a base adorned with the Salmani engraving.
