The Board of Directors of Association of the First Division League Clubs held its meeting.

The Board of Directors of association of the First Division League (FDL) of Professional Clubs held a meeting today, Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in the city of Riyadh, chaired by Mr. Talal bin Abdullah Al-Obaidi, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the League, in the presence of the Vice President, Mr. Abdullah Al-Jariwi, and members of the Board of Directors; Ms. Bashir Al-Qahtani, Ms. Samraa Al-Quwaiz, and Mr. Khaled Al-Dosari.

At the beginning of the meeting, thanks to the Council of the leadership – may Allah bless them – for the interest it attaches to the sports sector, and the encouragement and the attention of His Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, in the sports sector, in accordance with the aspirations and objectives of the sports sector and supporting youth for the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Council also commended the great interest and diligent follow-up of His Highness the Minister of Sports, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and his interest in everything that could contribute to the success of Saudi football in general and the First Division League (FDL) for professionals in particular. The Council also thanked the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation headed by Mr. Yasser Al-Mishal for his continuous support and interest in the competitions.

The meeting began with praising from members to the notable started of the current version of the Yellow League for the 2023-2024 sports season, then the members opened a consistent council meeting, announcing that it had been properly held, and confirmed the agenda, which included the presenting report about the statistics of investment returns in the competition and the development of follow-up/views numbers.

The meeting also viewed the requests of companies wishing to renew or join the sponsors of the league during the current season 2023/2024. The members also discussed the mechanism and brochure for developing television transmission for the coming seasons.

The meeting concluded with a study of the appropriate time to adopt the mechanism for boarding and reserve the third card for the coming seasons, which will play in the manner of decisive confrontations, and to raise that proposal through the General Assembly of the League before presenting it to the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
